On Friday 27th March 2020, as a result of the escalating global pandemic, we sadly had to cut short our big adventure and hastily return to the UK.

We originally kicked off our trip in September 2019 in Taiwan and then moved to China. After easing our way into the travels we headed to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam before Christmas 2019. We took a 3 week ‘holiday’ from travelling to visit friends in Sydney for Christmas and New Year. Having hopped across the Pacific we intended to spent 7 months in South and Central America. We managed to explore Chile and Argentina, but the trip came to a premature end shortly after arriving in Mexico. The rest of our trip will remain a dream to be hopefully completed at some point in distant future.

With no permanent home, Dave, Jennie, Molly, Elsie and Rory in some respects continue the adventure, and are currently living in short term Airbnb accommodation in the beautiful Peak District. There are definitely worse places to be locked down.
